Many people we meet in The Program radiate a kind of special glow - a joy for living that shows in their faces and very bearing. They've put aside alcohol and other mood-altering chemicals and have progressed to the point where they're "high" on life itself. Their confidence and enthusiasm are ...

Anaheim Lighthouse Family,I would like to take the time to thank all at Anaheim Lighthouse for their care, love, prayers and most of all hope as I prepare to leave in a couple of days. 26 days ago I entered this treatment center as a suffering, frightened hopeless alcoholic and addict. I cannot e...

When we were drinking most of us never thought of helping others much less considered lifting a finger to do it. Yes, we would buy someone a drink because it made us feel like we were good and doing a good thing. But we really only used others for our own benefit, to make us feel like we were do...

I was at the end. I drank, passed out, came to, and drank some more. I drank up my child support money. I went to bars, not to pick up men, but to find one to buy me drinks. And then someone I knew called DSS on me. No, I did not leave my children alone, nor did I ever hit them or verbally abuse ...

Thought for the DayKeeping sober is the most important thing in my life. The most important decision I ever made was my decision to give up drinking. I am convinced that my whole life depends on not taking that first drink. Nothing in the world is as important to me as my own sobriety. Everyt...

So what makes A.A. work anyway? The first thing is to have an extreme dislike and hostility towards myself and the way I live. Then I have to admit I am helpless, that alcohol and or drugs control me and I can’t do anything about it. The next thing is to honestly want to quit my old life. The...

Lindsay has 2 months of sobriety and is making plans to open her own rehab facility for alcohol and drug abuse and name it after herself, of course. After all, she does have alot of experience with rehab - she's done it 5 times and hopefully this last time is going to stick. If you considering treatment at a drug and alcohol rehab center here is what you can count on:No locks. That's right - you're free to leave at any time, even if you've been sent by the courts, but in the end you'll have to face the consequences of doing so. For the program to work you have to b...

The Lighthouse is a completely magical place where dreams are fulfilled and hope is brought to completion.
If I were shopping around I would want to honestly understand a few things first. Do they allow you to live a life independently structured where freedom and choice is a vital part of the program. Yes, they do.
The housing style is very accommodating with a few clients per apartment. Yes, my apartment holds five clients and the area is hardly frequented by staff. It feels like home, is equipped with Netflix and there are no limitations on bedtime hours or ability to fellowship with one another in this environment on our own time.
They allow you to have your cellular device while in the program as well. The food is outstanding and very wholesome; the kitchen is available and stocked with snacks twenty four hours a day. Family and friends can visit you on Saturdays and each weekend they allow you to travel to Walmart and shop for your own needs as well.
The majority of the above is based on comfortability, we just want to know if we can make it in a reasonable environment. This is to give you assurance that it is completely desirable and far above competitor locations.
On the recovery side of things we are given the option to acquire a sponsor allowing you visits any day of the week to meet and work on you 12 steps if you so choose. Otherwise groups are held daily and for about an hour each group. Every moment in between is yours to hang out and fellowship, kick back on some Netflix or exercise. We love playing games as well and ping pong is also a big hit here.
Give yourself a chance to recover in this magical place. What makes it magical is the staff members. For instance Mr. John Brown has impacted my life tremendously with his testimony and method of teaching, Mr. Rob (R.O.B) with his heart felt leadership style and Edmond who brings out the truth with his down to earth messages cutting sharper than any two edged sword.
I’m thankful that they all played a part in my recovery and I wouldn’t have it any other way. My only hope is that you by viewing this review, give them a chance to help save your life; making drastic changes that will impact your recovery journey forever. As John Brown would say, “even a bird with a broken wing has a song to sing”. So let’s hear your story!
