When Outpatient Alcohol Treatment Is the Best Option

If you want to continue living independently while cultivating your sobriety, enrolling in an outpatient alcohol treatment program can be an effective option. In this set-up, you will not be required to live in a residential facility long-term. You can continue with your daily routine and community obligations while in the program.

An outpatient alcohol treatment program offers many of the same types of therapy as an inpatient alcohol treatment program. It often includes psychotherapy in individual and group sessions, an orientation to 12-step programs, various support groups, and family counseling. Education about addiction, life skills, and coping techniques are also typically part of outpatient programs.

It is important to note, however, that this type of program only works with certain types of clients and a thorough assessment of your individual situation is needed to determine whether this program is advisable for you. If there are certain factors in your current environment that can hinder your recovery, a residential inpatient program might be more beneficial for you.

What to Expect in an Outpatient Alcohol Rehab

Most patients who complete an inpatient alcohol treatment program follow up with outpatient services while others start alcohol rehab with an outpatient program. In either case, psychotherapy is the main component of most treatment plans with one-on-one sessions with a licensed psychotherapist and in facilitated groups.

In an outpatient alcohol rehab, you will receive a basic understanding of the disease of addiction, the specific triggers for each individual, and how trauma or co-occurring disorders may play a role in your struggle.

At Anaheim Lighthouse, we also offer 12-step programs and other support groups within our facility. We also have sessions that teach life skills and coping techniques that play an important role in recovery. Your personalized treatment plan will determine which specific therapies and programs will be most beneficial. If you need flexibility in your outpatient alcohol rehab schedule, we can offer daytime, weekend, or evening options that will flex with your schedule.

Our Outpatient Alcohol Treatment Builds a Strong Foundation

Anaheim Lighthouse offers a solid outpatient alcohol treatment program with all the services you need to establish and maintain sobriety. Along with psychotherapy provided by highly-qualified therapists, we provide facilitated group settings where you can interact with your peers, offering and receiving support and encouragement from one another.

As an outpatient client, we also introduce you to 12-step programs, so you can get started on a path that will help you cultivate long-term recovery. We will assess your physical health and suggest an exercise and nutrition regimen geared specifically to your individual needs.

We will also make sure that you have an abundance of community resources to call on throughout our alcohol outpatient treatment program and after you leave our care. We are dedicated to your long-term recovery and we are intent on equipping you with a foundation for sobriety and the ability to make healthy choices for your future.
