Anavar Side Effects: Know The Risks

Oct 20 2021
Categories:Drug Facts

Anavar is an anabolic steroid (oxandrolone) that was first created for medical purposes. It can be taken orally or injected, and it has been used to treat people with different medical conditions like bone pain and Turner's syndrome. It has been available since the 1960's but in recent years, Anavar's popularity has increased as a bodybuilding supplement because of its ability to help promote muscle growth and reduce fat.

However, there are some risks associated with Anavar use that you should know about before taking it especially for non-medical use. In this blog post we look at the side effects that you could experience when taking this drug.

1. Mental and Mood Disorders

Anabolic steroids like Anavar are notorious for causing mental changes for the user. Increased aggression or "roid rage" is one of the common side effects of abusing steroids. Other mental effects include extreme mood swings, irritability, depression, paranoia, and anxiety.

2. Fatigue and Pain

Taking Anavar can cause extreme tiredness, headaches, and feeling lethargic. Even if it is also used as a medication for bone pain, the drug could also cause muscle and joint pain.

3. Long-Term Nausea

Another side effect that you could experience is nausea. Nausea is an unpleasant feeling in the stomach and an urge to vomit. This can develop into a long-term side effect if you abuse anabolic steroids.

4. Skin and Hair Changes

The drug can affect your skin and your hair. Some of the common side effects include oily hair and skin, unusual facial or body hair, hair loss, and increased sweating.

5. Voice Changes

This side effect is more common for women taking the drug. Anavar is reported to cause hoarseness or deepening of the voice for women. This happens because of the hormonal changes in the body caused by steroids.

6. Sleep Disorders

If you are taking the drug, another side effect that could happen is an inability to sleep well. You could experience insomnia or an increase in sleeping problems if you are taking the drug for an extended period of time.

7. Sexual Changes and Dysfunction

Taking Anavar can also produce sexual changes in your body. For men, it can cause increased or decreased sex drive, prolonged or frequent erection, swelling of the breast, decreased sperm production and infertility. For women, the drug can cause irregular menstrual period, breast loss, enlarged clitoris, and sex drive changes.

8. Organ Damage

Prolonged use of Anavar can cause damage to your organs. It can cause heart problems and could lead to heart attack and stroke. But one of the most dangerous risks is how long-term use of steroids could damage your liver.

9. Drug Addiction and Overdose

Anavar Side EffectsPeople who habitually use anabolic steroids like Anavar are at risk of being addicted to the drug. First, they become physically and psychologically dependent on anabolic steroids because they want to retain the muscle-building effects the drug provides them. The problem, however, is that even when negative side effects manifest, they still continue to use the drug and cannot stop. This is a sign of steroid addiction. Abusing the drug by taking higher doses or using it too frequently could also lead to drug overdose.

10. Misuse of Other Drugs

Some users who abuse anabolic steroids experience severe withdrawal effects in between their doses. Because of this, it is not unusual for some of them to use other drugs to mask these symptoms instead of consulting with a medical professional. This could lead to misuse of other substances to alleviate withdrawal symptoms such as cocaine, heroin, and opioids.

Are You Suffering from Anavar Side Effects?

Anavar’s side effects can be dangerous if you take the drug without guidance from a doctor or experienced professional who specializes in anabolic steroid use. You may need to stop using Anavar entirely when these symptoms happen, which is why it is important to seek medical advice before taking any drug. You should be aware of the side effects before you buy these drugs online or use them for bodybuilding. There are long-term and short-term side effects that may happen depending on your physical condition, how often you take it, and its dosage among other factors.

The unfortunate thing is that many people are not aware of these risks and they end up experiencing difficult side effects. These side effects are not only bothersome, but can also seriously affect your health. This could even lead to addiction which can be another monster that could damage your life. By knowing these risks, you can avoid taking anabolic steroids and find a safer alternative for your bodybuilding needs.

If you are struggling with steroid use and you believe that you are already addicted to the drug, help is available. You can consult an addiction specialist who specializes in anabolic steroids to find out how you can stop using them and avoid their negative effects.
