Hey Everybody,

Off to sober living in Bay Park, San Diego. The only thing that mattered to me was 30 days sober. I had no idea that I would encounter a group of counselors and students so diverse, so kind. So strong. I have learned and grown in the last 30 days to a degree I thought impossible. I tasted happiness not felt in a decade. I heard heartbreaking stories that had both everything in common and nothing in common.
We are a rag-tag group who have had a little trouble in our lives. When you lament the things you've lost....things, money, people, health, time, don't think of it as damage done, but a character building detour. People walk by the homeless as though they are invisible, but not us. For the rest of our lives we will carry this unique perspective, this insight, and in the end it will make is more compassionate, kind and strong.
I will never forget this place.
