Stuff The Bus School Supplies Donation Event
Stuff The Bus Event
Provides School Supplies for Needy Children
The Anaheim Lighthouse was a proud participant in the recent "Stuff The Bus" donation event. Organized by Assemblywoman Young Kim (R-Fullerton) the annual school donation drive is intended to provide new school supplies to benefit K-12 students in the Anaheim and Stanton areas.
The 2016 Stuff The Bus Finale was held on Friday, August 12 2016 at CM School Supply in Anaheim, another sponsor of the event.
“Many parents and students struggle to buy the supplies they need to succeed in school,” said Assemblywoman Kim. “Our Stuff the Bus drive will help get those students the important tools needed to improve their education and get them on a path to a bright future,” she added.
Community members came out and donated pens, paper, backpacks, notebooks, crayons, tissues, rulers, and other basic supplies for students and families in need of these items. All of the supplies collected will be distributed to school students in Anaheim and Stanton.
“The Anaheim Lighthouse is super excited to be able to work with Assemblywoman Kim to collect school supplies for students who may not be able to afford them otherwise,” said Tamara Jimenez, Community Relations Manager for The Anaheim Lighthouse. “This event shows that our community can and does help support Anaheim and Stanton schools, and we will continue to help as much as possible for future events as well.”
One of the great aspects of recovery, and life in general, is giving something back to those less fortunate than ourselves. Thanks so much to our team members for this great example of selfless service to the community!
